A Framework for Teaching Programming on the Internet: A Web-Based Simulation Approach
Abstract
Problem statement: This research study describes the process of developing a web-based framework for simulating programming language activities on the Internet, in an interactive way, by enabling executable programs to perform automatically their function. Approach: The interaction process is played using Java applets. It emphasizes the importance of building the web-based architecture of the proposed simulation model. Results: The research concentrates on developing programming courses on the Internet to contribute to the distribution of education for the benefit of learners. We emphasize on introducing interactivity between the user and the programming environment. Conclusion: The project is at its first phase and is still under development but we hope that the design of the course and the interactivity that the Java applets provides by simulating the run of an executable C++ code will appeal to our users.
